Where we do and do not cover
We would rather be straight about this than take an enquiry we cannot service properly. Our routine domestic coverage in Wolverhampton is WV9 and WV10, on the north and north-east side of the city, because that is what we can reach and get back from sensibly.
If you are in WV1 to WV6 or further south and west, it is worth asking anyway, particularly for solar, battery storage or commercial work, where we travel considerably further. But for a socket or a fault find, someone closer will serve you better and we will say so.
Solar, battery storage and commercial
For solar PV, battery storage and commercial electrical work we cover Wolverhampton as a whole, along with Birmingham, Dudley and Coventry. Larger projects justify the travel in a way that a two-hour domestic job does not.
Domestic work in WV9 and WV10
The housing across Bushbury, Fordhouses, Oxley and Featherstone is a mix of inter-war and post-war stock with a lot of later additions. Typical work is consumer unit replacement, EICRs, fault finding, and adding circuits for showers, kitchens, garden offices and EV chargers.
Landlords are legally required to have an EICR carried out at least every five years and at the start of any new tenancy. Domestic EICRs from £220 + VAT.

Recent work in the area
Full rewire of a flat in Wednesfield. The owner had inherited the property from her mother, and nothing had been done to it electrically in a very long time. We went out to look at what she thought was a small job, and it was clear on inspection that the installation was past repair rather than past its best. We rewired it throughout and certified the work to BS 7671.
Inherited property is one of the more common reasons people call us. A house that has been lived in quietly for forty years often has an installation nobody has looked at in that time, and it is worth knowing where you stand before you spend money on decorating.
Full rewire of a 1930s semi-detached house in Dudley. Carried out for an elderly homeowner, working around her so she was not left without power or lighting overnight at any point. Property of that age and type almost always needs a full rewire rather than a partial one, because the original cable is at the end of its life throughout rather than in patches.
Housing association and social housing work
We carry out reactive maintenance for a housing association covering the Birmingham, Walsall and Wolverhampton area. That work is the opposite of a planned installation: you are given an address and a fault description, and you are expected to turn up, diagnose it, and put it right in one visit, in an occupied home, without fuss.
It is a useful discipline. It means we are used to working in tenanted property, to being accountable for certification and paperwork, and to fixing what is actually broken rather than quoting for a replacement that is not needed.
If you are a managing agent, landlord or housing provider looking for a contractor for reactive works, EICRs or remedial programmes, get in touch.
Consumer unit changes, showers and small repairs
A large part of what we do day to day is not big projects. Consumer unit replacements are probably our single most common job, and we carry out a steady stream of them across Cannock and the surrounding towns. Replacing an old fuse board with a modern unit with RCD or RCBO protection is usually the single biggest improvement you can make to an older installation.
We also cover reactive work and small repairs, including:
- Electric shower installation and replacement
- Shower pull cord switch repairs and replacement
- Consumer unit and fuse board replacement
- Sockets, switches and light fittings that have failed
- Tripping circuits and intermittent faults
- Extractor fans, outdoor lights and garden power
Pull cord switches and electric showers are two of the most common things to fail in a domestic property, and both are jobs where people are often told they need far more work than they actually do. If it is a switch, we will replace the switch.
